My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Colby has been in foster care with StrayHaven for over a year. He actually showed up in his fosters horse pasture and didn’t know how lucky he was to end up somewhere where he could get out of the freezing weather!

Colby is SUCH a good boy. He is about 1 1/2 years old, up to date on shots, and microchipped. He weighs about 60 pounds and is a pitbull/hound mix. His perks are he is fully crate trained, fully house trained, loves other dogs, loves people, loves car rides, and knows how to sit! Colby would do best in a home with a fenced in yard as he is an explorer! When it’s time to unwind, he likes to relax and watch TV on the couch with his foster parents. He knows his crate as a safe space and prefers to nap and sleep there with the door open. He is still a young dog so he is energetic but has NEVER destroyed anything in his foster home. He loves to carry toys around when he gets the zoomies!

More about this rescue

Stray Haven provides homes, as foster space allows, for dogs and puppies. We primarily focus on pulling dogs and puppies from independent rescuers who have little resources to secure the vetting and homes that these precious babies so desperately need. Some counties in rural areas don't have access to a county run shelter or facility and these independent rescuers are breaking their backs trying to make sure that dogs aren't starving or freezing after abandonment.

In addition to taking in these dogs and puppies, our outreach continues to help independent rescuers by providing education, exposure for the animals in their care and donations when possible to support their cause.
