My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willie and his brother Nelson showed up as strays or were dumped at someone's house in the country. The lady had to feed them in secret because her husband didn't allow it and didn't want them to stick around. They live by a highway and the lady was worried that they would get hit by a car. So she reached out to rescues and now these babies are with us.
Willie is the smaller one of the brothers but also the more spunky and adventurous and brave one. When I first brought them to the rescue and they met some of the big adult dogs, Willie fiercely 'protected' his brother from what he perceived as a threat (there was never any danger, all the dogs are friendly). He stood his ground and the big dogs backed off and gave them space to settle in. It only took him about two hours to realize there was no danger and that's when his curious side came out. He started exploring and before I knew it, he was running around playing, splashing around in the water and just being a silly puppy. He likes being petted but is definitely more independent than his brother. He would do great with an older dog that is still playful but can teach him the ropes. He is very smart and learns very quickly. He is great around cats too.
He is currently still in Oklahoma but can only be adopted in WA state or Oregon where people treat animals well, unlike here. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport in either Tukwila, Tacoma, or Portland. If things don't work out for whatever reason (rarely happens, we have very few 'returns'), a local foster will be found to take him in and you will get a refund (refund if you let us know within 2 weeks of arrival).

Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, dhpp vaccine (minimum 2 rounds), bordetella vaccine, lepto vaccine x 2, fecal test, dewormed, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm prevention.

Adoption fee: $500 (includes the $230 cost of transport to the PNW)
