My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoey, our absolutely adorable little rescue girl! This little cutie is a 5 year old, 11lb Havanese/Shih Tzu (with probably some Poodle also) that will steal your heart! Zoey has quite the personality! She is confidant, happy, spunky, and so lovable! Zoey would make an amazing companion for an owner who is newly retired or works from home. We rescued Zoey from an owner that never took care of her serious back condition. She was paralyzed from the waist down when we got her, so we immediately got her to a surgeon who performed her life altering surgery. The surgery was a success and Zoey is as good as new. Obviously, preventative measures should be continued which consists of short walks, dog ramps in the home to the couch and bed (she needs to be allowed to sit and sleep with you)-no jumping on/off furniture, and of course, yearly exams. Zoey absolutely LOVES people more than anything in the world and would love an owner that dotes on her and takes them with her wherever they go. She is good with other dogs but can be a bit bossy, so she should either be an only dog or with a very submissive dog. Zoey is great in the car, great on little walks, and is perfect with every person she meets! She MUST have a single level home with no stairs. A backyard where she could sunbathe (which she LOVES doing) would be ideal! Although Zoey is great with children, an adult only home would be best as she should not be picked up by young children because of her back. Zoey is such a happy little dog with such a true zest for life! She has been through so much that we want to see her in the most loving and caring forever home out there!
