Poppy is a sweetheart!

She is your companion. Poppy wants to be with her human, next to you on the couch or in your lap. Preferably in your lap, getting belly rubs. Did I mention that she is a sweetheart! She likes to go for walks and walks very well on a leash. Poppy likes to go places with you and she rides very well in a dog car seat. She is doing fairly well with her house breaking but still needs work, time, and patience. She is not a barky dog. She will bark a little when you leave (protesting) the house but stops after you pull away. And she will bark, of course, when you come home and she stops once you come in the house. She is still a little shy and timid. She needs to feel safe with you and looks to you for guidance and reassurance. When she feels that from you, she warms up pretty quickly to other people.!

Poppy came to us after she was released from a breeder. She is a dachshund, DOB 4/25/17, is 11 lbs, and was just spayed, got a dental, up to date on shots, micro-chipped, and fecal and heart-worm tested negative. She is friendly and good with other dogs. She also is super affectionate and loves to be near people. She would do best in a home with kids over the age of 12.
