Meet Ivory! Ivory came to us back in February from a local puppy mill situation where she had little to no human contact in her first 6 months of life. Her foster homes have worked very hard with her to get her to where she is today, and so she is finally ready to look for her perfect home.
Ivory is still learning how to be a real dog! She loves to play with other dogs and would greatly benefit from another confident, stable dog in the home. It will help her learn routines and to continue realizing that people are not as scary as she thinks they are!
Despite being a small dog, she does not enjoy being picked up and carried around as many small dogs do. Ivory loves to snuggle on the couch for some nice head scratches. She likes to play with you as in wrestling with your hands, play biting. She does not bite hard while doing this, but for this reason we would recommend no young kids as it may frighten them. Her new family will need to continue to positively redirect her from play biting.
An experienced home will take preference due to her background. She is crate trained and will sleep in her crate all night! Ivory will need continued work with her house training and basic obedience.
Ivory’s new family needs to understand that she will take time to come out of her shell and work with her to continue the progress she has made and will continue to make in the right family. She is higher energy and will need a family active enough to keep up with her needs.
Ivory is spayed, microchipped, and is current on vaccines. She is being fostered in Markham, ON.
