Meet Vern

Vern is a mixed breed dog that was adopted through WAAGR as a puppy by a wonderful family. Recently, Vern's family underwent quite a bit of reconfiguration, and now he shares his home with two kiddos under the age of 5. This has put a lot of stress on Vern, and it forced his family to make a really tough call. They love Vern, but they can tell how uncomfortable he is trying to be the best boy while sharing his personal space with small children. We think it would be best for Vern to live in a home with no children under 10.
Vern has always been a little stressed by thunder or fireworks, but his family puts his Thundershirt© on and he goes and hides and that seems to help reduce his anxiety.
Vern is house trained, does not require a crate, and has been said to get along with dogs of all sizes, but is currently the only pet and enjoys being the focus of all of your love. Any and all introductions to other pets should be done slowly, after Vern has had some time to decompress and get used to his new surroundings. He would love to find a home that is relatively quiet, with a fenced yard and someone to help him get regular exercise. Vern also knows his basic commands, and boasts a pretty impressive "stay".
