Hi, I’m Huggins, but sometimes my foster mom calls me Huggy. I’ve been staying with her for a little while now, and it’s fun and all, but she says it’s time for me to go to my own furever family, and I think she’s right. Maybe you’re the one who wants to make me part of your family?
Let me tell you a little about myself.
My dad said I needed to go to my foster mom’s after I started getting protective of him. I just wanted to make sure that he was safe, and also, I was a little scared after we moved to a new house in a new city, and I didn’t get to go to work with him anymore. I used to love riding around with him when he went to work. I still really love to go on car rides, especially ones where we go through something called a drive through and the nice people give me treats. Foster mom says I’m a really good boy in the car.
Since I’ve been with my foster mom, I’ve been watching and learning from her dogs that I don’t have to be scared of things anymore. I would LOVE to have a fur brother or fur sister to help show me that things I used to be scared of aren’t so scary after all. (Foster mom says I would do well with another confident, energetic, easy going fur brother or sister to help me work through his concern over his human. I need an energetic, confident dog to play with and learn from.) I also want a fur sibling because I LOVE to play with other dogs. I used to go to doggy daycare regularly and that was the bestest thing EVER! The people there always told me how good a boy I was, because I was wonderful with all of the dogs and the people that worked there.
My foster mom has lots of dogs at her house (it’s kind of like a doggy day care. hehe). I am very good about how I play with all of them. I am very respectful of the very old male; I greet him when we meet but then I leave him alone. I just love the 10 weeks old puppies she has. I will stay by their kennel and talk to them and wiggle my nubbin. When she lets them out to play with me, I wag my nubbin even faster, and play with them VERY gently. They are so much fun. And I run around the yard and play tug-o-war and bitey-face and who’s-herding-who with the older puppies and adult dogs… I’m careful to adjust how I play with them all.
Did I mention I love to play?? With other dogs, to play fetch with a ball, or a stick. Foster mom says I'm a little obsessed with playing fetch and I’d be a poster dog for one of those automatic ball launchers. Sounds PERFECT to me!! I did some dock diving in the past and I'm a pretty athletic dude, so I might also be good at flyball or agility. I have lots of energy and might like to try running with my human.
I’ve learned all of the basic commands but sometimes I’m a little stubborn and don’t want to do them when my foster mom asks me to. I’m pretty good on a leash; although I get a little excited and pull a little at first sometimes and sometimes I’m a little stubborn and don’t want to when my foster mom asks me to. And I am still a little shy around new people. Once I know you, you’re in.
I’m a very smart boy, but sometimes I'm a bit impetuous and don’t always make the best choices on my own. Foster mom says I’m going through my teenager stage and my new human needs to have Aussie experience to help me become the bestest boy I can.
My foster mom has a cat. I usually just watch her as she moves around the house, but sometimes I want to play with her and I bounce at her a little too quickly and it makes my foster mom a little nervous, so it might be best if my family doesn’t have any small animals.
I haven’t been around kids, but my foster mom thinks I would love my own boy or girl, as long as they are a little older and have dog experience. We’d definitely want to meet first, to be sure it’s a good fit.

Huggins is 2yo old and weighs 50#. He is neutered, UTD on all of his vaccines. He is on HW and flea prevention and microchipped. Huggins is being fostered in Jackson, OH.
