My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Senior Yogi is now available for direct adoption.
PLEASE READ’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT HE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: YOGI IS A DIRECT ADOPTION WHICH MEANS HE WILL GO DIRECTLY FROM THE SHELTER IN MEXICO TO YOUR HOME.
We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption.

Meet gorgeous Yogi who was left dying on the streets of Mexico, emaciated and suffering from a serious lung disease for days he waited alone and frightened for hours until someone saved him. The heroes at our sister rescue SOS el Arca managed to get him well He is is blind in one eye and is a very sweet boy who is fearful of people but with patience and love we know he will become part of a loving family.
Letter from Yogi:
“I am an introverted home body seeking introverted home body. The outside world can be scary. I prefer the comfort of home where I can sit and watch tv in peace and quiet. A human partner who enjoys peace and quiet is preferred. Parks and hikes are too chaotic for me. I like my house. Did I mention that I like being home? Well I do. Do you have a home? If you do I would like to be your life partner. LoveYogi”
His ideal home would be one of patience, patience, patience. The adopter would have to understand that Yogi needs to take it slow so a quiet, calm home is necessary for him to move forward. A home with a securely fenced in yard is a must as he is a definite flight risk at first. No apartments or condos for Yogi. He is extremely shy and would need time to trust people and the world around him. This could take a while and the adopter must be committed to Yogi to make sure that he gets the time and patience he so deserves. Someone who is at home most of the time would be best for him and because of his shyness a home with no dogs or cats and respectful children 12+
Yogi walks well on leash, but is constantly checking to make sure he is right beside you and looks up for encouragement. Everything is new to him and he needs time to process all the new sounds, sights and smells, and as he becomes accustomed to them, his demeanour becomes calmer.
Yogi is housetrained and crate trained, He is still learning human interaction and it would be beneficial for him to settle into a forever home sooner rather than later hence the direct adoption from the shelter.
If you feel you would be the right fit for Yogi, please fill out an adoption application at www.allpawsmatter.ca\
All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.
NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.
BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
