My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello,

My name is Jersey and I am a princess! Technically, I am a 5 year old, 11 pound, female Brussels Griffon Terrier. My species often remind humans of a Wookie or Ewok from the Star Wars Movies. I have a nearly flat nose, an underbite and a heart of gold. I was born to be your companion! When my humans are home I stay by their side. I love to watch TV and video games and am happy to help give you a jump scare when something is sneaking up on you on the screen.
I prefer not to be left alone for more than 5 hours but if you must be gone longer you can leave me a pee pad. I am not “crate trained,” whatever that is supposed to mean (Boxes make me nervous.) I love to go on walks and car rides but if you think I want to go out in weather below -20, well….that’s just preposterous! I am community minded so I joined the neighborhood watch as soon as I moved here. My foster mom says she doesn’t care what the dogs down the block are excited about but I don’t want her to ignore the danger so I tell her anyway in my cute little bark. When visitors come I am a little shy but I warm up to them as soon as they sit down and I can give them a proper sniff. I like other small dogs but big ones seem threatening. I don’t shed and I prefer to get a haircut every 3 months or so. I don’t love baths but I sure like the attention or being brushed and told I smell pretty afterward. I prefer to sleep on the bed with my humans but if they insist, I will sleep on my plush bed beside theirs. I currently eat ⅓ cup of food twice per day so that my greedy foster sister doesn’t eat all the food. Supposedly, I poop very little for a dog my size so I am easy to clean up after.
This past February, I had luxating patella knee surgery on both my knees. I didn’t understand it but now I walk and run much better. I’m thankful to everyone who donated bottles, jewelry, and money for my care and my awesome vet at Lakeside Veterinary Care.

I’m looking for a forever home that is knowledgeable about my breed, owns their own home, and will return my love and devotion.

If you think this might be you please send an email to my rescue telling them about your home, family, yard and all you are offering to give me to be my adoptive forever home and family.
