My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Don't tell Margot Robbie, but we have the best Barbie right here! This sweet 2.5-year-old pit bull mix is ready for her starring role beside Ryan Gosling's Ken. In addition to her gorgeous smile, our Barbie is a pure entertainer ----energetic and curious, and enthusiastic about life. She has a zeal for life that is a joy to be around. This gal weighs about 40 pounds and is ready to find a forever home that will allow her to shine! Barbie hasn't had much training in her life, but we think she's a natural. She's house trained and is working on her crate training in her foster home, and she's proven herself to be a quick study at all things basic obedience. She loves car rides. Barbie gets along well with other dogs and would make a wonderful co-star with a canine friend who complements her personality. Barbie would do better with older kids and an active family that will keep her mentally and physically engaged.

If you'd like Barbie to join your cast, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process.

All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Barbie's adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationApril 26, 2024, 8:34 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

More about this rescue

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation
