My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gwen!

Gwen was found as a stray in severe neglect, and we have taken our time with her so she could learn to trust humans again. She has had one eye removed and many dental extractions. She must have been in so much pain prior to surgery. And that put her in a MOOD! She has made a drastic turnaround since recovering from her surgeries, and it has been a joy to see her progress.

Gwen is definitely a Velcro dog. Her favorite place is in your lap or your arms. Your lap is her very favorite place. We are seeing more and more of her cute personality blossom every day. She would love to be the apple of your eye as the only dog in the home. However, she has started playing more with the dogs in the house, so another small dog sibling is not out of the question, as long as it’s understood that she gets the lap. ?

She is not happy in a crate and will let you know it. She does sleep in her fosters bed sometimes and loves it but will sleep in her dog bed in the bedroom as well.

We are working on house training. She is almost there! She is very cheese (as a treat) motivated. So, it shouldn’t be much longer before this is mastered.

Because of the neglect she suffered before coming into our program, it takes her a little while to warm up to new people. We hope to find an adopter with the patience she will require. Then, you will reap the benefits in a best friend for life! ??

Gwen in spayed and fully vaccinated. She is only available for adoption in the Houston area.
