My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Quick Facts about Pete:
Breed: Chihuahua/mix
Age: 3 years
Size: 25 lbs
House-Trained: Yes

Pete was surrendered to Catering to Cats and Dogs after his owners realized they did not have time to care for him. Pete loves food… he LOVES food. He is very food motivated, and it shows a little around his midsection. He is currently on weight management food to get his weight in a healthier range. He likes to sleep, go for walks, get belly rubs, and occasionally play with toys, but he also is a big couch potato if you let him. Most of all, he wants to be wherever you are! He has been working on his basic commands in his foster home and will need continued help once in his forever home.

Pete is a somewhat hesitant and nervous dog. After getting to know you a little, he warms up, and if you get lucky enough to become his person, he will always be by your side! He does get nervous with loud sounds and sometimes when you put on/take off his harness. He feels safe in his crate and will resort there when he feels nervous. Pete would do best with low to moderate-energy dogs and needs proper introductions to his doggie friends.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To begin the adoption process, please complete the adoption application online.

Please see our adoptable pets page for a list of the current pets that we have for adoption.

All interested applicants must complete an adoption application for the pet that you are interested in. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received.

One of our volunteers will review the application and contact you via email or phone to ask any questions that we might have. We also reserve the right to perform a home visit for any adoption. During a home visit, a Catering to Cats and Dogs volunteer will come to your house to see where your new pet will live.

If you are not sure which one of our adoptable pets would be right for you, please contact us and we would be happy to advise you as to which pet may be a match, just let us know what you are looking for.

Once your application is approved and a match is found, you will be required to sign an adoption contract and pay the recovery fee
