My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the adorable Leyla! She is an almost 2-year-old, 35-pound, golden
Cockapoo (she was born 22 months ago). She looks like a miniature golden
doodle! This beautiful girl was surrendered to AFC by her owners who moved
out of the country and couldn't take Leyla and Molly with them. She is
loving in spite of being shy. Will you give her the time and patience she
needs to blossom? Leyla's best placement is with a FAMILY with older
children and sure-footed adults. You will need to include her in your daily
activities? She doesn't play with soft toys but she loves to chew her
Benebone! She gets excited at the squeaky toys and would probably love to
engage in play once she is comfortable. She gets along well with the other
dogs at the sanctuary and would be an excellent second dog especially since
she has lived with another dog all of her life. She would also be fine as an
only dog with lots of love from a constant human companion. She barks at
cats. She will require some housetraining as she has been sleeping in the
garage. NO MORE garage for this beautiful girl! She is a house dog now! She
has had obedience training and knows the commands: Sit, Stay and Come. At
the sanctuary we use the command "go potty" before taking the dogs outside
to do their business and Leyla is happy to comply. This is a good habit to
continue. She will require regular professional grooming. BREED experience
preferred. Please be a home owner with a securely fenced yard. She is
spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Are you ready for a new love? Leyla is
waiting to fill your heart and home with love. Adoption Fee $600. OFFICEIf you are interested in this dog or would like more information please send me an Adoption QuestionnaireThank youAdoption Fees For Dogs Start At

We appreciate that you are interested in one or more of our dogs or cats for adoption. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner.

1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it.

2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why)

a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response.

b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get.

c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to.

3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org

4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/

5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
We are closed on Sundays unless you make prior arrangements and schedule an appointment
