My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little Man Spike, we are so happy to have met him and be a part of his journey. He is a special little guy looking for an extra special home. Spike has a little bit of a sad tale. He was taken to an animal control as a euthanasia request. The kind people there took a look at him and thought there was a twinkle in his eye and perhaps he deserved a little more time to enjoy a bit more of this life.

He is 10 years old and has cancer. He has a mass on his testicle as well as one that was found in his abdomen via ultrasound. Spike has a collapsing trachea that will cause him to cough a little under duress(we were told he was not happy with his Xrays!). But, his lungs look good, his heart seems fine, the boy has some spunk. Yes, the cancer is there, but for now, Spike is ready to enjoy life.

Who knows how long he has, but he surely is more than able to warm someones heart, bring some smiles to some faces, and fall in love for as long as he has.
Summer is upon us, maybe Spike has a bucket list...see some fireworks, dip his toes in a lake, have a hamburger on the deck, or maybe watch some baseball sharing a recliner with his new best pal?? We are hoping to find a very kind hearted person/family that will love this pudgy little fella until it is time for him to say goodbye.

He has had a full exam, and that will go with his family, the prognosis of course is not good. Spike does not need any medical intervention, he just needs some love and a kind family. He is so incredibly sweet, he melts your heart. Spike is a tiny, chunky little guy, small enough to pick up and go! If you are interested in giving Spike a loving home please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com. We will waive any adoption fee, of course, and Spike will go home with supplies to help him settle into his new home. Thank you reading his story!!
