This gentle 8 year old giants owner passed away and now he is looking for his new forever home. Boone is a true blood hound, he is curious and loves his walks so he can sniff out all of the neighborhood critters. He is a little shy with new people and does not care for loud noises. He likes his doggie friends, but does not like to share his food or bowl when it's chow time. Boone is potty trained, but does not care for a crate. He loves his people and will be a loyal companion who will follow you around the house.
In true blood hound fashion his new owner will need embrace his slobber like a badge of honor, but this is easily manageable with a fresh supply of dish towels strategically placed around your home. He also has big floppy ears that need cleaning bi-weekly, Boone takes all of this attention like a champ. Boone is also great at letting you know if someone has come to visit your front door. Boone would do best with someone who can be home during the day to give him attention or someone who can visit at lunch. He does well with others dogs after an introduction, but will let them know who is in charge.
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
