My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mercy, the youngest senior tuxie in the Northeast! She's playful, curious, and quite energetic for an 11-year-old cat. She likes to chase spring toys, foil balls, and toy mice, but nothing gets her running faster than her favorite crunchy treat tossed across the room. She also enjoys "killing" a good feather toy. She has a great appetite, eats wet food and kibble, and looks forward to her three meals a day. Mercy requires an understanding adopter with a strong knowledge of and respect for cat behavior and their unique body language. Because she was declawed and mishandled when she was young, she can get overstimulated more quickly than most cats. She needs someone who wants her despite being declawed, not because she's declawed. Her ideal home is a calm, quiet environment without children, where she is the only pet in the household for the rest of her life. Building a meaningful relationship with Mercy will take some time and understanding, but the reward is highly gratifying. Her foster mom has a great relationship with her because she listens to Mercy and lets her decide when she wants to be touched and when she needs to be left alone. She thrives on a consistent routine and uses the litter box perfectly. She will go to her forever home with all her things- litter box, carrier, cat bed, and her most prized possession- her brush. Her sweet side is heartwarming- she enjoys daily snuggle sessions with her foster mom. She is a great work companion and will sit beside you quietly, enjoying your company. She is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and current on vaccines. If you want to give Mercy the loving home she deserves, please fill out an application at queencitycatsvt.org/adopt.
