My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Nova and Dove are in a foster home ***

Nova: solid white, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/15/22, #17610
Dove: solid white w/gray patches, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/15/22, #17611

***Bonded Pair***
Cats: enjoy
Dogs: like
Children: polite children

Noble Nova and Lonesome Dove were hiding out in the rocky portion of a public park with their mom. Although they had each other, times were tough, and they really needed a human to come along to lend a helping paw. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stumbled across the family and did just that! When they came to Rescue House, our first step was to get them thorough checkups, and we found out a few things from the vet. Nova and Dove both have blocked tear ducts, which causes them to have watery eyes. This is due to a birth defect and does not affect their vision or the health of their eyes. After evaluation by the ophthalmologist and some progressive treatments, the final verdict is that their eyes must be wiped daily with a basic eye wash solution and dried often to reduce skin irritation-nothing else needs to be done. Nova also has another congenital abnormality. When he walks, his back end wobbles. This condition is not progressing, and he does not experience any pain or discomfort. It has not slowed him down in any way-he can still run, jump, and climb like a normal cat; he just looks a little awkward on occasion. With clean bills of health, these two cannot wait another minute to meet their forever family!

---Nova has a luminous personality! He checks all of the boxes for an amazing kitty: he is an inquisitive explorer of life, an entertainer providing plenty of laughs, and a charmer who knows how to add a little bliss to his family's day. Once you earn his trust, Nova will rev his purr motor loudly when you pay attention to him. Although he is not a lap cat, he likes to hang out close by if you are available, and he is a fan of co-sleeping. He also makes a great work companion and supports you by snoozing on the desk while you type on the computer! Obsessed with the laser pointer, he loves to chase it on flat ground, and although he occasionally will fall while pursuing the elusive red dot, he bounces right back up and returns to the game! Due to his balance issues, he does have difficulty climbing things; however, this intelligent dude largely recognizes his limitations in that department and rarely has trouble with alpinist pursuits!
---Social and sociable, Dove wants to interact with her humans whenever possible and likes to be in the mix to make sure that she is not missing out. (This kitten has serious FOMO!) While interactive sessions with you and the feather teaser are an important part of her day, she is a smart cookie and understands that in order to be a productive member of society-on occasion-you may have to do something other than play with her. Luckily, she is excellent at entertaining herself and may take the opportunity provided by a bit of time alone to indulge in her passion: birdwatching. Sprinting after ping-pong balls and scaling the furniture are other treasured pastimes. It's not all fun and games or ornithological pursuits for her, though-she loves your company and is affectionate too!
***Dove and Nova MUST be adopted together.

This pair gets along well with the other cats and dogs they live with in foster care. They are very gentle, and we think they would make excellent family cats for a home with polite children!

Are you ready to brighten up your house with two celestial beings that will liven up your home and illuminate your heart? Then, Nova and Dove are the kitties for you!
