My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aflac - Chihuahua/Dachshund - Male - 1.5 yrs - www.twyla.org

If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org

Aflac is a Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix, estimated to be around 1.5 yrs old and was found a stray walking around a neighborhood in Porter, Tx. His early life is a mystery but he has proven to be a very friendly and energetic little guy. He is great with adults and kids of all ages. Although he gets along with all types of dogs, a single dog home or one he would share with only smaller dogs would suit him best. He has a tendency to be a little too energetic for some dogs, which has gotten him into trouble on occasion, when they are done playing but he is not quite done playing just yet. He has not had any interactions with cats or other animals so it is unknown if he would do well with them. Alflac is great at playing fetch but does not care much for walks yet. He is still learning house manners including differentiating between appropriate and inappropriate items to chew on and has tried marking in the house, but has no issues wearing belly bands until he learns that marking is for outside walks only and the main reason why walks are awesome. He is ok with being in a crate, not the biggest fan, and will vocalize that displeasure a little but  but calms down fairly quickly. He much prefers to be free to roam around.  Aflac typically sleeps in the bed with the foster family and loves to snuggle under the blankets.

Aflac is looking for a family with or without another dog, kids are fine, he would fit in with just about most families and housing setups, as long as he gets attention, exercise and snuggles, he'll be happy.

***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
