Their adoption process
When you've signed the paperwork, we will send you home with a coupon booklet that includes many PetSmart coupons including $5 a hard carrier if you need to purchase one as well as a free bag of food to go home with.
Adoption steps
- Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
- We are unable to do meet and greets without an appointment. But you can go online to see available cats as well as in-store.
- Submit Application
- While the stores do stock paper applications, we recommend filling out our online form as this e-mails us right away.
- Interview
- An adoption coordinator will reach out within 3 business days to you to discuss your application and answer any questions.
- Meet the Pet
- Our adoption coordinater will schedule a meet & greet once the application is approved. We do not accept walk-ins except at events.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- If, at the meet and greet, you decide the cat is a match, you will be able to sign paperwork then and there to adopt the animal.
- Pay Fee
- Our adoption fees are $175 per animal. We accept cash and credit card. There is a $8.31 processing fee for credit cards ($183.31)
- Take the Pet Home
- That's it! You will need to leave PetSmart with the cat in a carrier per their policies but you can take them home and get them acclimated!
