Welcome Tessa to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 3-year-old Shepherd Mixed with a Small Terrier breed is our best guess. She is medium sized and about 30 pounds. She is a little shy so a person wanting a companion that likes to stay home is her best pick. She would be great for a person that also likes to be at home and is looking for a companion that is content with that. She will just need a smaller yard for exercise. She will bark if she sees something out of place or would be a good alert dog for someone hard of hearing. She is not going to need mounds of exercise. A small walk or run in the yard would be sufficient. I think a senior couple or single would be perfect for Tessa. She is good in her crate and decent on leash. She feels like her crate is a safe place so if you had people over she would be fine in her crate if you wanted her not to be involved with the visitors. She is healthy, spayed and getting her vaccines. She would be ok with children. We would like her kiddos to be 10 or older. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.

More about this rescue
C.C.P.A.L. seeks to reduce the enormous problem of pet overpopulation in Bandera County We promote low-cost spay/neuter programs; advise on basic health care & proper shelter for pets & offer excellent dog obedience classes several times each year. Since 2002, CCPAL has rescued nearly 5,000 animals. We are in constant need of foster homes for these pets until we find them homes. Our pets are in kennels on an acreage in Texas. We can use a transporter to get them outside of Texas if we find a great home.
