My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apply to Adopt Me!

Meet gentle Scooby!

His bio is below, but you can also find more of his videos and photos of Scooby from his overeager foster mom, also his puparazzi, at the following places:

ABOUT SCOOBY:

Scooby is almost 6 years old and 70 pounds of lovable bully breed muscle!  He has been with the rescue as one of their longest fosters, and ready for his furever home!

What you should know to fall in love with him:

  • Sweet love bug and Velcro boy. He follows his foster mom from room to room while she works from home daily, always wanting to give her a big, wet kiss. He loves to be close by at all times and quickly settles in for a snooze.
  • Dog, cat and kid friendly.  Because he has a clumsy personality, playful and patient dogs are best for this boy.
  • Crate-trained, and knows “come”, “outside,” “no” and “pants.” (More on that command to come ;)
  • He loves dressing up and humors his foster parents by wearing a variety of tiny hats and costumes.
  • Scooby LOVES pillows, and can often be seen moving a pillow around to nap on or moving his “blankie” from room to room.
  • Hobbies: enjoys snuggles, sunbathing, Scooby snacks, toys (OH, HOW HE LOVES HIS STUFFIES AND BENEBONES!) naps, and the occasional limited zoomie.
  • He loves time outside, so a fenced-in yard for him is a preference.
  • MEDICAL: Here’s the important part. Scooby was surrendered to his previous owner’s personal vet for euthanasia when he apparently “woke up” one morning unable to walk. Well, our rehab vet believes Scooby suffered a spinal cord injury. As you can in his video, with the excellent vet and foster care that Scooby has received, he has regained almost all of his functioning ability, gets around totally fine unassisted, can still climb into bed and on the couch with you, and runs like the wind. He walks like a clunky Clydesdale, but…
  • Scooby wears a belly band whenever in the house as he has both urinary and fecal incontinence. We call them his Fancy Pants, as only the most special dogs get to wear them! However, his 8,837 kisses each day and hilarious personality make up for changing a few belly bands.
  • He is also on inexpensive prescription eye drops for dry eye, but takes them well… his foster mom rewards him with treats before and after ;)

Scooby is so deserving of that family who will love him for who he is - a funny, loving boy who just wants a chance at a forever happy home.

If you have a big heart for a big, goofy boy like Scooby then complete an application for him and tell us more about you.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501(c)3 dog rescue. We take owner surrenders and we pull from local shelters. We, like so many others, are just trying to make a difference.
