Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cooper is a handsome 9-1/2 year old male Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler-Australian Shepherd mix who was surrendered by his owner on May 19, 2023.
Cooper has a black-and-gray short smooth coat, a long tail, and the sweetest face with baby blue eyes, beige/gray eyebrows, gray shading on his muzzle, and short floppy ears. Cooper has the most adorable facial expressions.
Cooper was smiling in most of his photos when HSOV Executive Director Karissa Reynolds spent time with him outdoors for updated pictures on June 6, 2023. Cooper is a happy boy who loved attention from Karissa (as well as brushing away some of his 'winter coat'). Cooper was anxious to begin a walk with Karissa and wasn't really focused on posing for boring still-life pictures, so he chose action shots instead.
We've learned that Cooper does not get along with smaller dogs, but he seems to be ok with medium-to-large dogs. We aren't sure how he feels about children or cats.
Cooper currently weighs 60.4 lbs and is fairly strong on a leash.
Cooper was neutered on February 14, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine.
Cooper was adopted from HSOV in March 2023 but was returned on May 19th because of an unfortunate incident when Cooper was apparently startled by someone who was straightening up his blankets and reacted inappropriately (and made contact with that individual with his teeth) :( In compliance with our policy/procedures, Cooper was assessed and quarantined for the 10-day period with no further incidents.
