My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE: We will only adopt kittens out in pairs. This listing is for both Rigatoni and Anelli and we do require that they go to a forever home together. Rigatoni is a male and Anelli is a female (listing only allowed us to choose one). In addition, we DO NOT declaw and will ask that an adopter sign a contract agreeing to never declaw.

Meet Rigatoni (gray) and Anelli (black)! These two angels were born into rescue at an SLSDP foster home after their pregnant mom was surrendered to us. These two - along with their other two siblings - were born on April 20, 2023 and have since been growing up in foster together. They are happy, healthy, playful little goofballs who love a good cat tree and lots of crinkle balls! Anelli runs the whole show, and Rigatoni is the muscle of the operation. He has even been known as "Big Toni" in his foster home. Anelli's nickname is often "Nelli Belly" since she loves to tip over and give you her belly to pet and play.

Riggy is the largest of their litter and Anelli is the smallest. We expect this to stay similar as they grow into adult cats. Their mom is a small (8-9 lbs) domestic black shorthair, and from what we understand their dad may have been a large Russian Blue. Anelli takes after their mama, and it would appear that Rigatoni likely takes after the dad! With that said, their sizes aren't so different that they can't play and wrestle around together - in fact, this is their favorite activity! While they love their other two siblings, Rigs and Nells can usually be found either playing or snuggling with one another.

Both Rigatoni and Anelli are litter box trained and do a fabulous job of never going elsewhere! When they move into their forever home, we will ask that their new people keep them in the same space with their litter box for a 30 day period. This helps them to know exactly where to go potty always and to set everyone involved up for success - both kitties and people! We will also ask any adopter to sign a spay/neuter contract. (SLSDP will pay for the surgeries; we just require a signed contract stating you will bring Anelli and Rigatoni to those appointment/s.)

If you're interested in meeting these little Italian pasta angels, please fill out our adoption application here: https://www.stlsdp.org

MUST be located within a one-hour radius of St. Louis. No exceptions can be made.
