My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mose-ing around for your love!

Hey guys, I am Mose, a master star athlete, if you count my recent paddle board adventures! I am 3 years old, neutered male Hound mix, at 50 lbs. I came from Ensenada and have been at a loving foster home since and having a great time! I am bathroom trained and good on my leash manners with positive reinforcement. I also have separation anxiety and I’d love patience and training support with conditioning in a positive manner. I am now on Prozac (~$10.00 for a months supply, depending on where purchased and market value) to help with my anxiety when I am left alone. I stay in my Separation Anxiety crate with no problem. Mental stimulation like snuffle mats, toys, keep me busy too.

I am a lover boy and love bouncing it with fellow doggies and people. I have met a few kids and cats, and been a good boy! I would love an emotional and sweet pawrent who will adore me! I have a bit of a #wanderlust and would make the best roadtrip buddy. I am also a great running buddy. Hikes, beaches, sports, you got it! Just make sure to have a fenced yard because the wanderlust can be deep!

I would love an active family where we go on many adventures together and then kick it on the couch with binge shows. Having a doggie playmate would be so fun, and playdates too! I'd need companionship while I navigate separation anxiety training. If you think we can be the best roadtrip pawtners, let's meet! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
