My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our pets are fostered and physically located in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can deliver to your location or one of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a transporter who delivers north ever other week.

Sheldon came from a local shelter. They were over full and he was in danger of being euthanized. He is a german shepherd mix. The vet said he is around 2 years old( as of 6-22-23). He is a tall lanky dog, around 65 to 70 pounds. He is a sweet boy and very affectionate. He needs a home with room to run. He is energetic and would need an adopter who can embrace it. He will make THE BEST hiking buddy ever. He likes water to. He would be best in a home where he can be the only dog. If he can't be an only dog he needs a home with a large breed submissive female. He would also do well with puppies. He is doing well with crate training and house training.

He will go to his new home current on vaccines, testing, preventives, neutered and microchipped. He will receive a complete physical by our vet prior to going home. He will also be issued a certificate of Health. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption.

We require a pre screen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Go meet their pets

Our dogs and cats are located in NC until they are adopted. It is much easier for us to foster them in the location where we save them from the area kill shelters than to stress them with a very long ride right off the bat. It is less stressful for the animal to be transported straight to the adopter where they can settle in to their forever home without worrying about being bounced around the country 3 or 4 times first. We can transport to our locations once adopted. We have several delivery points in most North Eastern States.

ATTENTION: We DO NOT have a physical shelter. Our group is foster based. Our pets are fostered mainly in NC. We can ship them to their new home once they are adopted. We can provide our adopters with LOW COST transport to our Northeastern locations.

We pull animals from the high kill shelters in the southern states. These animals would be put to death without our intervention. Once we secure the animals we provide spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm testing and micro-chipping and any other vet care they may need. We also work on any training issues that the animal may have. We are not a shelter per say, our group is foster based. Each of our animals live in a home environment prior to going to their adoptive home
