My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Petunia, a sweet 1.4 year old hound/beaglemix dog. Petunia came to us as a puppy. She’s in foster care in Clymer,New York. Petunia loves to be around her people at all times and snuggle. Her favorite spot is the recliner. We call her a social butterfly. She is young and has plenty of energy and loves to play with her toys. She would love and active home that will take her on lots of adventures and give her lots of love. She shows signs of being dog/cat friendly. If you have another dog we will do a assisted meet and greet to make sure the two get along together. Petunia will need a secure yard to keep her safe from wandering. She will need some more training in and out of the home. Come meet this cutie. You’ll fall in love with her. Vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.
For more information, please send us a direct message and we will get right back with you.

More about this rescue

Puffies Rescue is a small family run rescue that saves dogs that are unwanted, abused, neglected, abandoned or are owner surrendered. I created this rescue to help save as many animals that we could, that are in need of forever homes and thus far have saved several hundred living and breathing animals to date.
The dogs are then placed in foster care homes, receive proper medical care, vaccinations and are spayed and neutered before being placed into their new home. The potential applicant is asked to complete a thorough application, complete with a veterinarian reference check and a home inspection is completed to ensure the animal is going into a home that is best fitted for them. We are one of the stricter rescues as we strive to ensure that the animals placed will be treated like one of the family and not go into the wrong hands as all too many animals do and end up going back to a kill shelter or ultimately parish.
Our mission is to help educate people on the need for spaying and neutering of their animals, which creates the overpopulation of so many; the horrific cases of abuse in puppy mills and why the need to adopt rather than shop; breeding; dog fighting and to help advocate against animal abuse. The statistics are ever so overwhelming and we hope that one day there will be no animal suffering from the hands of a human and that ultimately there will be stricter animal abuse laws.
