Hello folks, my name is Miss Maisel. I am a 60 pound, spayed, white, Lab and the Vet thinks I might be 4-5 years young and here is my story. It is a little sad in the beginning but things turn out all right because of the nice people at SCLRR.
Back on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 I found myself dumped in a shelter towards the end of my pregnancy with my LAST litter of puppies. One of the BESTEST foster Moms in the world saw me while looking at shelter sites on her computer and rushed to my rescue. The people at the shelter told her that I was near the end of my pregnancy (they had no idea how far along I was though) and they thought I had 3 puppies in my tummy as they did an ultrasound on my belly when they did my "intake" exam. Well, the nice lady took me out of that terrible shelter immediately and put me in her car and away we drove, never looking back! When we got home, I was introduced to my foster's family of fur babies. She has 3, Trevor a yellow Lab, Lola a little terrier/chihuahua, and Jakob a BIG handsome chocolate brown curly Lab. I loved meeting my new friends. Well, that night I had the best dinner and the loveliest night's sleep I had had in a very long time.
The next day, Thursday, I slept as I was very tired and my belly was very tight so I rested all day. Then Friday, March 31 st , I woke up to some pains in my tummy and shortly I began delivering my puppies. First one, second one, third one and to my and my foster's surprise another one and another one and another one!! Oh, my was this ever going to stop? Well, it did finally stop after I delivered 9 healthy puppies. AS you may have realized my foster Mom named me Miss Maisel after a human on a TV show and she also named all my puppies names of characters on that very same show...Lenny, Shy, Astrid, Suzie, Joel, Gordon, Sophie, Miriam, and Rose. My beautiful puppies are now adopted to wonderful families so now is my turn to find my own family.
My second foster family has 2 Labs and I really like the big red one named Buddy! The black girl Lab and I play all the time! I do not remember getting to have so much fun, ever in my entire like. My new foster Mom has been feeding me lots of wonderful food to get my figure and hair back into prime shape so that NOW I can find the just right' family to love, nurture, and cherish me! I love playing with other dogs, toys, going on walks even though I need encouragement on proper leash manners. (I pull because I am so excited to go on walks) Oh, Oh. Oh.....I forgot to tell you about my new found passion: I LOVE to swim in a pool! Swimming is so much fun, best thing ever!!!
