My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sea Turtle! Turtle is a loving, self-sufficient, curious girl who is looking for a best friend. While she did take 1 day to warm up to the newness of her environment, she has been the best buddy ever since. I have never met a dog who plays so well by herself and keeps herself entertained. She only barks when you walk in the door as she is so excited to see you again. She is very much a homebody and loves cuddles on the couch or in bed. Turtle would never hurt a soul, but new people do frighten her but once she is comfortable with you she is the best girl. She is great with other dogs as well but prefers quieter areas and as not yet been to the dog park. She is still working on the leash as she is timid on the busy streets of New York as she wants to keep an eye on all of surroundings. That being said, she is potty trained and knows to potty outside on a walk when kept to her routine. Sea Turtle is very low-maintenance and will be the best addition to your home.

Socially: So far, Turtle has been very good with kids and other doggos but not sure about cats.
House Trained: Potty trained - Turtle will absolutely let you know when it is time to GO!  Will use pee pad otherwise.
Crate Trainied: YES!
Energy Level = 7
Walking Manners: leash training is coming along as long as we don't get distr- SQUIRREL!  Has the potential to be an amazing run buddy!
Appetite: no kibble is left untouched!
Loves car rides, has a bit of of separation anxiety but improving and enjoys walks when not too crowded... but who likes crowds??
Favorite Things: belly rubs, snuggling and playing with other doggos

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at http://www.WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States.
