Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Welly is a beautiful brindle Lab mix who is between 7-10 months old with striking eyes that will melt your heart. Her past is a sad one - she was severely emaciated and in very poor health when we first got her. She was skin and bones weighing only 34 lbs. But she is a survivor and has turned herself around to become a very fun loving healthy young girl. She is willing to put the sad past behind her and live a great life from now on.
Welly is at times afraid of the outside world, especially parking lots, loud city noises and most unfamiliar humans. She does really well at dog parks, pet stores, and at the vet. She would make a good guard dog as she is not afraid to bark at strange new sounds. When she meets strangers she barks and her hair stands up if she feels afraid. She is a very protective dog who will need time to be introduced to visitors. It may take several introductions to be properly introduced but once you are accepted into her pack you will be loved by her forever. Knowing Welly's limitations she would probably do best in a home that didn't get a lot of new visitors or different workers coming and going.
She loves to chase my Jack Russel and they can get pretty rough with each other so tiny dogs would not be a good fit. Having a large dog who she could learn from would be the best fit but she could also be an only dog as well.
She does well in her crate and likes to spend hours in there every day. She goes to bed around 9 and wakes up at 6 A.M. sharp. She was house trained with a doggie door but she was having accidents when she changed her home for a while. She is a messy water drinker who sticks her whole face into the bowl. I put the water dishes outside and as far away as possible to give her some time to dry off before coming back inside.
Welly is the most beautiful and sweet dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and I really think that the right forever home is just around the corner.
