I'm Kody, the new kid on the block, and I'm thrilled to meet you. I'm thrilled about everything really, cause I'm a puppy with puppy energy.
EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! EVERYTHING NEEDS INVESTIGATING! I'M HERE FOR ALLLLLLL OF IT.
I don't wanna brag, but I'm pretty smart. I also love a welcoming lap on the sofa that I can get right on for cuddles and kisses. I could stand to lose a pound or two. (Whatever, it's just baby fat.)
I like being with my people, and sometimes if they leave me to go upstairs, I whine. In the spirit of full disclosure, menfolk initially make me a bit nervous too, but I've learned that when they sit down to play with me and give me scritches and tummy rubs - they are AWESOME!
I potty outside like the Mensa candidate I am, though my foster fam has given me some extra cues and time to figure out which door is which and I get positive reinforcement for 'watering the trees.' She's also helping me learn to use the ramp.

online adoption application. Kody's adoption fee is $650.
All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Kody will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.
Almost every dog's veterinary expense is greater than our adoption fees; we are non-profit.
**Kody is a Legacy Dog. Legacy Dogs are highly adoptable dogs that can assist other dogs in our rescue with their vetting bills.***
Legacy dogs have a much higher desirability quotient. They're young, healthy and usually purebreds. These dogs leave a financial legacy for those animals who need extra help - whether they need extensive medical care or just a little more time to find a loving home.
(And they still cost less than going to a breeder!)
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.
Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.
DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
