My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pisces!

Quick Facts:
Breed: A little bit of Pittie, a little bit of Black Mouth Cur, a little bit of whatever breed will pull on those heartstrings.
Age: 11 months old (as of 8/10/22 - DOB estimated around 9/10/2022)
Size: Currently 50#, may end up in the 55-65 zone as a mature adult.
Dogs/Cats/Kids: LOVES other dogs, all sizes. Not tested with cats. Good with children.

Pisces is the mullet of the grown puppy world. She is near perfect on leash: walking in so much a heel that sometimes she'll find herself under your feet and completely in your way. She sits politely in the lobby of veterinarians, waiting her turn, asking calmly for pets when she gets overwhelmed and does not participate in the chaos of other dogs... on leash. Party in the back though, because as soon as that leash unclips and she's got another canine friend to let loose with.. she no longer cares about your existence, until snack time, anyways.

Though she does not require another dog in her forever home, she finds her confidence and comfort in other dogs - of any size - and would benefit from having a social, confident buddy to help ease her into the world of the scary humans. We're not sure what Pisces' past consisted of before rescue, but she takes a little time to trust people & will need a family who can help her build her confidence with regular outings and positive experiences. She LOVES other dogs, truly, and would love a dog who can help her build the dirt track of her dreams during her zoomies in the backyard. She enjoys playing tag and full-blown wrestling matches. She can play a little rough, but takes correction from other dogs well & has turned out to be quite durable.

She currently resides with an 8 year old tiny human and does well, but can display gentle, but nippy puppy behavior when super excited about life, though she does re-direct easily. She LOVES toys of all kinds and loves dragging them all outside one by one even more. She will play fetch and even bring it back to you most of the time! Pisces has recently discovered that magical things are kept on surfaces higher than her, so she will need some extra supervision in the kitchen when the smell-good things are happening.

Pisces does well in her crate & will kennel on command. She is allowed to sleep with the big dogs at night on her dog bed in the main bedroom, but sometimes has 3am escapades into other parts of the house if she gets bored. She is crated while her foster mom works all week & during meals. She is house trained, but still needs that outside availability every couple hours when you're home & also the puppy-praise that comes with her using the bathroom outside. She thoroughly enjoys the outdoors, and I can't promise that her ask to go outside actually means she needs to potty and isn't solely to go roll in the dirt with a toy.

Puppies require training, so Pisces is no different. Expect to work to potty train your newest addition as well as work with them on their basic obedience. We highly encourage enrolling your new addition in training courses to teach obedience and socialization skills. Please remember puppies are A LOT of work and are a commitment for life.
