Poppy Rose

Hi, I’m Poppy Rose, a Hound mix puppy with lower energy. Right now I weigh 30 pounds and I’ll grow up to be about 45 pounds. I was found as a stray with my siblings, who were adopted. Now I’m dreaming of my forever home! I’m very fearful of everything new - people, animals, etc. My early life was probably scary and lonely. Once I warm up and trust you, I am a very sweet, gentle puppy!

I like people (prefer females). I’d feel most comfortable with older kids. After our initial meeting, I love other animals - dogs and cats. I’d enjoy having a dog or cat sibling - or both! I try to play with cats and am gentle with them. There’s not an aggressive bone in my body.

My foster parent says I’m really smart and learn commands quickly. They’re also teaching me not to jump when I get excited. I’m a fast learner. Since I get scared easily, it’s best that my new home has a fenced yard (preferably a privacy fence so I feel safe). I walk well on a leash normally, unless something scares me, then I pull away and could get out of a traditional collar or harness. So it’s important that I have a martingale collar. I’m almost house trained. I love my crate because it’s my cozy safe spot.

I’d love to get to know you and show you what a nice doggie I am!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To begin the adoption process, please complete the adoption application online.

Please see our adoptable pets page for a list of the current pets that we have for adoption.

All interested applicants must complete an adoption application for the pet that you are interested in. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received.

One of our volunteers will review the application and contact you via email or phone to ask any questions that we might have. We also reserve the right to perform a home visit for any adoption. During a home visit, a Catering to Cats and Dogs volunteer will come to your house to see where your new pet will live.

If you are not sure which one of our adoptable pets would be right for you, please contact us and we would be happy to advise you as to which pet may be a match, just let us know what you are looking for.

Once your application is approved and a match is found, you will be required to sign an adoption contract and pay the recovery fee
