My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Roxy. I am a 7-8 year old Pit Bull who is about 60-70lbs. I was rescued from the floods of Houston many years ago. Sadly, I was trapped and my leg was damaged beyond repair and had to be amputated. I have been living on 3 legs most of my life and it sure does not slow me down!

Roxy needs to find a home where she is the only animal in the home. She sadly does not get along with the small dog in her current home. She has not lived with children, but does well with visiting children. She is house trained and crate trained. She knows lots of commands. She always brings a smile to her families face as she is the first to greet you when you come home. She loves to sit like a Meerkat for balance. She is a GREAT snuggler but not pushy about it.

1.

Submit Application

We will check 2 personal references and a vet reference. If there is a landlord, we will verify you can have pets in your complex.

2.

Meet the Pet

Lucky Tales requires a home visit in which we will most likely bring the pet with us, to meet you in your home

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

After the home visit is approved and complete, you will fill out and sign an adoption contract and will pay the adoption fee.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

After the home visit is approved and complete, you will fill out and sign an adoption contract and will pay the adoption fee.

Additional adoption info

1. Submit an Application for Adoption by using the form on our website www.luckytalesrescue.org.

2. Our Adoptions Committee will review your application to ensure a good fit both for the dog and your family. We will also check your personal references as well as your vet reference. If you haven't done so already, please call your vet to give permission for your records to be released to us.

3. Once we have reached all of your references, we will be in touch with you to schedule a home visit/meet and greet! This part of the process is to ensure that the dog is the best fit for your family! Also, if you have other pets, this gives us the opportunity to observe how they react to one another!

4. If all goes well with the home visit, we will finalize the adoption!!

Please note that we do not do trial adoptions--we promote a lifelong adoption with the dog and family. Therefore we want to ensure that it is a proper placement from the start. We do understand that things come up, which is why we promise to support you through this process and after the adoption.

Our adoption fees are $250.00 for adult dogs and $350.00 for puppies.

No refunds on adoption fees.

More about this rescue

Lucky Tales Rescue is a community focused non-profit organization. Our goal is to save and protect unwanted animals by educating the community, adopting to responsible homes, and providing lifelong support for our adopters. With love and determination we ensure proper placement by matching animals with appropriate forever homes and helping the animals start their own lucky tale. Our rescue is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers who focus on a better quality of life for the animals whose lives we touch. Our volunteer group is our rescue family; we operate and conduct ourselves just like a true family would. Our hope is that through education and support we can prevent animals from being abandoned and left alone in shelters.
