My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TicTac is a male poodle mix (best guess although he does shed a bit) born approximately March 2023.
Full grown, our guess is he will be medium to large size. This little bundle of joy was born blind but the short time he’s been with his foster family he’s been able to map out their entire home and navigates it confidently. With the blindness TicTac does rely heavily on his human(s) to care for him and prefers to be standing between his foster mom’s legs, in her arms or to hear her voice. While his foster family is out of the house he does well in a small gated area by himself. He enjoys a few puzzle treat games as well as has a “rain ball” that he scoots around in his safe space. TicTac LOVES the water whether it’s baths, a pool or sprinklers! He also has taken up paddle boarding/kayaking and perks up to the sound of his lifejacket. TicTac does great with a doggie seatbelt in the car, but again he does prefer to be touching his human as much as possible. His foster family is still working on potty training and because of this he does rock a belly band but it’s most often dry when removed, so he’s definitely moving towards fully house broken. TicTac is in a home with two other dogs as well as a momma cat and foster kittens and does well. He prefers to sleep in his “safe space” at night so he doesn’t bump into anything (or anyone) who might startle him. TicTac is going to need a dedicated family to help him navigate through life with sounds and smells but in return you’ll get a lovable, goofy little dude who will provide you love and loyalty for a lifetime. We are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard and children over age 8

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

Go meet their pets

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

To find out about these and our other events check us out on Facebook or at our website at MikeysChance.com.

More about this rescue

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
