This helps Rescue Me Georgia, INC with pet care costs.
Meet Jersey! Jersey was a known "stray", wandering the streets of a small South Georgia town for months before being taken in my a Good Samaritan. Before that, she had lived her life on a chain. When her "owners" were located and contacted, they had no interest in taking her back or giving her the loved life she so deserves, so her Good Samaritan Guardian Angel kept her safe until rescue could be secured.
Jersey came to RMG just one day before giving birth! She was a great mom to all of her pups but now she has declared that her Mom days are over and she is ready to be spoiled and pampered herself! Jersey is good with other dogs and absolutely LOVES people!
Sadly, just like about one in three dogs we rescue Jersey is heartworm positive. RMG utilizes a slow kill method of treatment developed at UGA that does not require any exercise restrictions or changes to daily life. All treatment related medications are provided and there are typically no lasting health effects after successful treatment.
