My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tara, a young feline who embodies a blend of shyness and sweetness. She's gentle, independent, and friendly, exhibiting a mellow demeanour that's soothing to be around. Tara has a penchant for hidey holes, finding comfort in their cozy confines. Yet, she also loves being pet, her purrs resonating with contentment. She gets along well with the other shelter cats, her sociability shining through her reserved exterior. Tara is a cat who has a lot to offer. Her independent nature makes her low-maintenance, while her friendliness ensures a warm and affectionate companion. Her love for other cats makes her an ideal addition to a home with existing pets. Adopt Tara and let her sweet, gentle spirit fill your home with love.

More about this shelter

The Gananoque & District Humane Society (GDHS) is a volunteer run no kill animal shelter that takes in abandoned or surrendered animals, provides them with medical care and attempts to find them forever homes. Every animal that enters GDHS is quarantined, assessed and examined by a vet (if necessary), spayed or neutered, microchipped, and given vaccinations prior to being available for adoption. We do not receive guaranteed funding from any source and rely on the generosity of our community.
