Hey there, I'm Bauman 'Bo', but you can call me Bo. I'm a young, playful, friendly, brave, and smart lad with the energy of an early bird. My tale? It's as funny as it gets. Once upon a time, I was chasing my tail, a classic dog pastime, right? But I spun so fast I got dizzy and fell into a laundry basket. The humans must have thought I was a load of dirty clothes and they brought me somewhere strange and accidentally forgot me when they left. Oops! LAPAW Rescue spays or neuters every animal, provides all shots, and vet checks every animal. Anyone interested in adopting must fill out an adoption application and be screened by an adoption coordinator. Home visits are required prior to adoptions. The home visit is to assure the safety of the animal and that the dog is a good match for the family.

Lake Area Partnerships for Animal Welfare (LAPAW) Rescue & TNR specializes in the rescue and placement of abused, unwanted, and abandoned companion animals. LAPAW does not discriminate on the basis of health, age, breed, demeanor, background or otherwise. LAPAW strives to educate the community, ensure public awareness, and gain local political partners to mitigate the number of homeless and uncared for animals not only in SWLA but throughout Louisiana. All animals within the care of LAPAW are examined, vaccinated, altered (spayed or neutered), and treated (if need be) under the advisement of professional veterinary expertise prior to foster or adoption which entails careful and thorough screening. Feral cats who are not socialized and therefore not within the household pet category are altered prior to their return to safe outdoor environments.
