Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Antonio is King of the Castle! This priceless tabby boy is about 2 ½ years old. He was found by warehouse employees when he was left abandoned in a cat carrier on the premises. We have no idea what Antonio’s life was like before his rescue, but we do know that his human(s) let him down. It’s now our job to do the right thing for Antonio. His likes are catnip, cat naps and staking out a higher spot to rein over his domain. His turn-offs are hustle and bustle and most other felines, so Antonio should be your one and only. We feel that Antonio would do best in a home with adults only. Come meet this big guy with personality plus!

The first step in our process is to fill out our online application at our website, www.care4strays.org. Once received, it will be reviewed by one of our trained volunteers. If approved, we'll be in touch to arrange a "meet and greet" with the animal. All of our cats/dogs are in private foster homes.

More about this rescue

Since our founding in 1995 by Lynn Cancro, Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.), Inc. has worked to find “forever homes” for abandoned, unwanted, neglected, or abused companion animals.

All the animals in our care are in foster homes, which helps socialize the cat or dog and allows us to identify the best type of home for each animal to ensure a successful adoption. We also work to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats with our Trap-Neuter-Release program. In addition, our team also strives to educate the public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to decrease the number of unwanted pets.

C.A.T.S. is not a shelter in the traditional sense; we rely on private foster homes to house the many unwanted animals in our care.

Our Resale Shop (80 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, NJ) helps fund our efforts. Please consider donating to our Resale Shop. Donations of brand-new and gently-used items are needed year-round and can be donated during shop hours Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 5:00.
