My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Watch LadieBird live in action: https://www.swh.org/staff-favorites.html

Hello, I'm LadieBird! I'm a 2-year-old, 47lb Border Collie mix. I am quite the social butterfly with a playful and energetic spirit. I recently got to spend the day out of the shelter and go explore, and I had a BLAST! I went hiking and got to splash around in the creek. I followed directions and was a very good girl! I can't wait for my next adventure, and I'm hoping that's with a forever human. I've got a knack for making people laugh with my funny antics. I'm smart too - I've mastered house and crate training like a pro! I also do really well on car rides. My only preference is that my future household have no children or small pets. If you have another dog I would love to meet them before you take me home!

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.

We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
