We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption.

Canelo has had a rough life, he was found on the streets of Mexico as a younger dog and has lived in the shelter for the last 6 years of his life. We finally brought him to Ontario so that he could have a life free of four walls and bars and live his retirement years in a home with love and patience.

He is a very loving, sweet, loyal and affectionate dog. He loves to be with his people and going for long walks. He is calm and has a gentle nature and loves to snuggle. He gets along well with his foster brother and sister dogs and is very well behaved although he has spent most of his life in a shelter. He is fully house trained and crate trained and travels well in the car.

Canelo loves going for walks and loves being outside in the backyard where he just sits and watches the world go by. His ideal home would be one with a securely fenced in backyard and an adopter(s) who loves to take long walks with him as he makes a great companion on his outings.They need to have patience to help him learn their routines and understand that while he is older he will learn where he fits in and what is expected of him in time. If there is someone home part or all day that would be beneficial as he likes to stick by his people. He would be fine with other dogs or as an only dog where he could get the attention he deserves. A home with children 10+ because of his size. No cats for this boy as he does have some prey drive.

Canelo is afraid of fireworks and thunderstorms but just needs to be tended to during these times. He is very friendly to new people and approaches them with proper manners, slowly and then waits for his pets.

All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.
