This helps Sauver Des Chiens with pet care costs.
GERMANN
Germann (spelled with two N's) is a black and tan German Shepherd. He is a super sweet boy, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
Germann came into the rescue about a year ago as a stray. This poor guy was filled with parasites, had an infection in the ankle of one of his rear legs, was severly emaciated and heartworm positive. He has completed his heartworm treatment, been treated for his ankle infection, parasites and has gained weight. The veternarian taking care of Germann said he does have some arthritis but doesnt act like he knows it or cares (he is taking Gabapentin for the limp and it does the trick). His foster has worked with him on his anxiety and said he is doing much better now. Germann does have allergies and takes Zyrtec for relief
Despite his rough start, Germann is a very sweet boy who gets along with other medium to large sized dogs, people, goats, cats and chickens. He is high energy and would do best in a home with OLDER kids. In typical GSD style he can still be "mouthy" when he gets excited. He is housebroken and will go to the back door to let you know he needs to go out to potty. Germann is crate trained, tolerates a bath but is not fond of people touching his feet or being brushed. He loves to be petted but has a habit of getting too excited and then this turns into mouthiness-foster suggests quiet gentle petting with breaks in between. He loves to eat and is not picky about treats. His top treats are pumpkin, peanut butter, apples and cheese. Germann knows "sit" "wait" and is working on "down". German. Is not great on leash but would love to have a big backyard to run and play.
