- Current Location: Mexico City
RESCUE STORY - My siblings and I were rescued off the streets of Mexico around one month old, my Rescuer thinks we were born there! What scary place for us wee pups! We were found with severe malnutrition and anemia, in pretty sad shape. You can learn more about my heartbreaking rescue by watching this video. I’m so thankful we were rescued and transported to the doggy shelter, where we’re now safe and in tip-top shape!
TEMPERAMENT - Like most puppies, I have lots of energy and just LOVE to play especially with my siblings (Carla and Robbie)! I adore affection from hoomans and can’t wait for all the belly rubs and snuggles from a family of my very own! I am looking for a patient, loving family who is ready for “all things puppy”! Hoomans who are open to working with timidity, potential play nipping, high energy, house training and leash skills. I promise to repay you with loads of cuddles, kisses (of course!), and tail wags!
ENERGY LEVEL - Medium/High - I'm still a puppy and have the energy and curiosity that comes with a pup! Being the silly girl that I am, I've been known to rip up cloth rope toys and sometimes blankets, my adopter will need to be patient with me when adding more structure into my day-to-day life! While I love to play with my fellow pups and hoomans, I also looove to cuddle, show and receive affection (check out this video). I'm looking for a forever family, to play with and love on, of my very own!
GETS ALONG WITH:
- Kids – Yes, I do well playing with kiddos. Here's a video of me greeting a child.
- Dogs – Yes, I love my puppy family! Check us out in this video! And here's a video of me being a good girl around both hoomans and doggos!
- Cats – Unknown. No exposure to cats just yet!
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
- Leash skills – Work in progress. I don’t have much experience walking on a leash just yet, but I'm learning! I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Check out video and video 2 to see how I'm doing so far!
- House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)
Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES:
- I am not spayed yet, as I am too young still. I have received all of my puppy shots though! I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccine and test records.
- I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
- NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
- My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
