Their adoption process

1.

Meet the Pet

Available pets can be met at the PetsMart in Mansfield, Texas from about 12 noon to 5 pm most Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.

2.

Submit Application

Application filled out at PetsMart or can be emailed to the applicant. Adoption at home scheduled later in week if approved.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Dogs delivered during home check, contract completed, and adoption fee paid. Cats may go home from PetsMart if approved.

Additional adoption info

Approval of applications based on information provided in the application, vet check, confirmation of secure home fence and suitability of pets to new adopters. Fee refundable during first few weeks if new pet is not a good match.

Go meet their pets

Approximately 8-10 dogs and cats are shown at the Mansfield PetsMart every Saturday from about noon to 5 pm. Contact HBAR to ensure the pet you may be interested in will be there.

More about this rescue

Homeward Bound Animal Rescue is a small group that finds homes for dogs and cats mostly in the Arlington/Mansfield area but anywhere in the DFW Metroplex is possible. It was incorporated in 2017 by fosters who previously belonged to a larger group with the same name that disbanded after the director passed away. The fosters have adopted out hundreds of pets in the last 15 years.
