My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*DOB: 5-8-18*

Sergeant is a big guy! Coming in at a whopping 112lbs he is just full of love. His size and bark can be intimidating but we can assure you he's just a big cuddle bug! Sergeant knows a few basic commands such as sit and shake. He was found on the side of the road with a pile of food. In the short time that we have had Sergeant he has come a long way! He takes a bit to warm up to new people so he would **require multiple meet and greets.** Sergeant seems to prefer Women and is a little more cautious around Men. He is currently being treated for a skin infection but since he needs multiple meet and greets he should be good to go before you take him home! Sergeant is just looking for a home with endless love and unlimited tennis balls. If that home sounds like yours apply for sergeant online at eastshoreha.org!

As of now we are by appointment only. Please apply online or call the shelter before coming. Once you submit your application one of our staff members will process it and reach out to you to schedule a meet and great. Please apply online at Eastshore Humane. Thanks!

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
