Buck was surrendered to the rescue with Small Fry, by a lady who also helps dogs in need. She wanted to try to get her numbers down and asked if we could help place them.She had saved Buck from a life on a chain. Buck was in terrible shape and was living a terrible life on the chain, ignored and barely fed and watered. Buck deserves better and we hope we can find him that kind of life. Buck is approx 1 year old and is, we think, a patterdale terrier mix, although there is no way to know for sure. He is, however, full grown and will not get any bigger. Buck does well with kids and other dogs. We are unsure about cats. He is a good sturdy size for children of any age and he absolutely adores kids. Buck is playful and active. He can be energetic so he will need some outlets to expend his energies. He walks well on a leash. You will also need to be prepared to provide housetraining in the event that he is not fully housebroken. We never make any guarantees, although we were told that Buck did very well inside and did not potty in the house. Buck loves attention and would be a wonderful companion.
Buck saw the vet on 7/19/23. He did have some mild skin and eye irritations noted on his exam. He was given a Convenia injection for the skin issue and Tobramycin for his eyes. He tested negative for heartworms. He did test positive for hookworms so we have dewormed him with drontal. He may need a follow up dewormer in 3 weeks. He weighed 29 pounds as of 7/19/23.

Buck's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Buck based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
