My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucy
Breed: Pit Bull / Staffordshire Mix
Date of Birth: July 25, 2019
⚖️ Weight: 75 pounds
Spayed & Healthy
Intake Date: July 24, 2023

Lucy is a gentle soul with a big heart. Affectionate, intelligent, and easy to love, she forms strong bonds with those who treat her with kindness and patience. This smart girl is currently in training through the Paws to Prison Program at Corcoran Prison, where she’s working with dedicated inmate handlers to learn basic commands like sit, stay, and leash walking. The structure of this program helps build her confidence, obedience, and trust in people—setting her up to thrive in a forever home.

Breed Information
As a Pit Bull/Staffordshire mix, Lucy is strong, loyal, and deeply people-oriented. These breeds are known for their intelligence, emotional sensitivity, and love for companionship. With proper guidance and a loving environment, Lucy will become a calm, steady, and devoted part of your family.

Owner Responsibilities
Bringing Lucy home means committing to:

  • Daily exercise, continued training, and positive reinforcement

  • Keeping her mentally and physically active

  • Providing love, structure, and routine

  • Regular vet visits and preventative care

  • Treating her as a cherished member of the family

Things to Consider
Before adopting Lucy, ask yourself:

  • Do you have experience or willingness to work with strong, intelligent breeds?

  • Can you give her the time, attention, and structure she needs?

  • Does your home or rental agreement allow large dogs?

  • Are you prepared to continue her training and provide ongoing support?

A Commitment for Life
Lucy is not to be chained or left outside—she deserves a warm, safe, indoor home filled with love and respect. She’s not just a dog; she’s a loyal companion who will stand by your side for life. If you're ready to commit to her forever, Lucy is ready to give you her whole heart. ❤️
