My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dipstick, the lovable no-tail boxer mix who never fails to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. With his endearing charm and mischievous personality, Dipstick is a true character, always finding ways to keep everyone on their toes.

Despite not having a tail, Dipstick's expressive eyes and exuberant personality make up for it tenfold. His joyful spirit is contagious.

Despite his mischievous streak, Dipstick knows the value of downtime and cherishes these peaceful moments, snuggling up close and enjoying the comfort of being surrounded by family.

When it comes to toys, Dipstick's enthusiasm is unmatched. He's a true "tug-of-war champion," always up for a friendly competition with any willing participant.

Dipstick's endearing nature is incredibly friendly and welcoming to new faces. He has a natural way of making friends wherever he goes, as his playful demeanor and warm heart are simply irresistible. As a boxer mix, Dipstick embodies the breed's intelligence and loyalty, which, combined with his playful spirit, makes him a joy to train and spend time with.

With his unique appearance and captivating personality, Dipstick leaves pawprints on the hearts of everyone who crosses his path. His mischievous antics, playful spirit, and cuddle-loving nature make him a truly special and cherished companion. Dipstick's life is a delightful balance of mischief, cuddles, and boundless playfulness.

Dipstick's adoption fee is $300 which includes the neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you're interested in adopting Dipstick, feel free to fill out an adoption application or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him first. We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
