My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucy! She is a loving and sweet senior cat. Her owner passed away before Lucy, and she needs a new loving home. She prefers quiet and relaxed environments. She loves attention and cuddles and would make a great lap cat for someone without other animals. She can exist with other cats, but she isn't used to being around them, and prefers to hide instead.

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to meet the animal they are interested in adopting. If they decide to move forward, they fill out an application. We contact their references and veterinarian. If there are other animals in the home, we require a meet and greet. If all is well, we approve their application. The adoption fee is paid, and the animal goes to their forever home!

More about this shelter

We are a private, non-profit animal rescue founded in 1993 by Florence Dedman. She gave her entire life savings to found an animal rescue to serve her hometown and community. We strive to keep her spirit alive in our work, and provide a safe place for cats and dogs to stay when they have nowhere else to go.
