My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hi to Robbie, a white-coated, sweet-faced 9-year old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix who is just too handsome for words!

Robbie gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats, and he’s at his most playful when he’s got another pooch to horse around with. In fact, you’ll marvel at how puppy-like Robbie can be! When Robbie becomes excited, he can get a bit mouthy - - and while he means zero harm, an adult-only home or one with older kids would be best suited for Robbie. He’s just a quirky pipsqueak who acts like he’s still teething sometimes!

When Robbie feels like chilling out, he enjoys being pet and scratched. His beautiful coat is warm and snuggly and ohhhh-soooo-soft to the touch. His shedding is minimal and he barks only when he’s having a convo with his doggie pals. Hey, wanna play woof me? OK, arf be right there! ;-)

When it comes to food, Robbie’s ALL in. And treats? This guy will eat anything! Which will come in handy, because Robbie’s still got a few things to figure out, and being treat motivated always helps. In terms of his bathroom habits, Robbie does his number 2’s outside, but he needs more training for pee-pee time. Currently he wears a belly band to alleviate that issue, but he’s also pad trained and crate trained, which is great!

Robbie enjoys getting fresh air, but he’s inexperienced at walking on a leash or going in the yard by himself. When it’s time to go out, Robbie prefers to follow another dog out if that’s an option, or he’ll just wait for you to pick him up. Uppy, uppy, hoooman!

This funny ‘lil meatball just needs some time and patience to iron out his kinks, but he’ll get there, and when he does, you’ll be so happy you put in the effort. If you give Robbie the love he deserves and the confidence he needs, he’ll give you the world!

More about this rescue

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 2,600 dogs and cats since 2015.

PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.

Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.

We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.

Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
