Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Edwin is estimated to be around 14 years old, and he is 18 lbs. He is on a diet because he needs to lose a little bit of weight. He came to us from a tragic situation. Though he is 14, he is still a lively guy, though he does love to cuddle, especially under the blankets.
Edwin is such a silly dog. He will crack you up with his personality. He is good with other dogs, big and small, though he really can't see very well (we think he sees lights and shadows) so sometimes he will accidentally step on one of his doggy friends. Because Edwin is vision impaired and older, he needs help with navigation at time. For example, he needs help going upstairs and downstairs by being picked up and carried. He has learned his way around his foster home and knows how to get up on the bed by using a ramp, where the water bowl is, and where the toy bin is. He will also go to the door to be let in from being outside when he's ready.
Edwin loves soft toys. He will pick toys up and carry them around as well as play with them. He also loves food, but he only has two teeth, so he can't eat any large kibble or treats out of precaution. He can still eat kibble, though!
Edwin does take a medication twice a day called Theophylline that he takes easily in a pill pocket or some canned food. This medication is something he will be on for life because he previously lived in a home around smoke for long that he developed inflammation in his airways causing a cough. This medication has helped him tremendously.
Edwin would do best in a home with a fenced in yard because he does not seem to understand how to poop on a leash. Being a hairless breed, he needs sunscreen when he goes outside and will need clothes for when it's cold.
To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org
His adoption fee is $200, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, dental cleaning with extractions, senior bloodwork, and heartworm testing.
